The Founding Fathers is what the American Virtues series is about. This one centers on Jefferson and starts with this stately portrait of him. This high relief picture looks gorgeous in 10 oz of .999 fine silver. Above him is ‘AMERICAN VIRTUES’ and ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’. Below his portrait is ‘THOMAS JEFFERSON MMXXI’. At the bottom edge is the mint mark CFL and ‘10 oz Ag .999’. On the very edge of the top is a famous quote by Thomas Jefferson, “Never trouble another for what you can do yourself”. On the reverse side of the coin is a portrait of Lady Liberty walking on a road labeled Independence. She is carrying a laurel leaf in one hand and a torch in the other. An eagle is flying behind her clutching a bunch of arrows. In the background is a silhouette of New York City when the twin towers were still part of the skyline. Around the edge of the coin are 50 stars representing the United States. This side of the coin has antique finish on it.
