Make sure that you do not measure to the end of the mandrel, you only want the length of the HAT and washer. The grip range of the rivet will be 1/8" shorter than the measured length. EXAMPLE: If the length of the hat is 1/2" the rivet is actually a 3/8" grip (.375), also known as a 4-6 rivet.
