Description: Vintage circa 1900s, label missing but believed to be OSCAR SCHMIDT assuming from the OS symbol on the pickguard, 12 string bowl back mandolin. This instrument is in very good condition for its age with a lot of scratches, dings, marks and signs of wear from age and use. There are repaired cracks and seam separations on the back and maybe very thin repaired hairline cracks on the top, barely noticeable. The pick guard is worn out and some parts missing. Please refer to photos. The tail piece cover does not stay closed in place as it is missing a turn lock. The strings are tuned in unison. The instrument has a nice sound and is ready to play. Please enlarge and observe all the photos for more condition as they form part of the description. The length is about 26".The body measurements are approximately 12" tall x 7" wide x 6" deep. The width at the nut is 33 mm.The action at 10th fret is about 4 mm.No case. Please check out our sound demo VDO by an amateur guitarist, not a mandolin player.
