Description: Maker: This set of 12 delightful plates is by the legendary French faience company Sarreguemines, which has been producing beautiful ceramics since 1790. Its long and colorful history ended in 2007 when the company was forced into liquidation. Design and age: Each plate features a different humorous scene of men and women in French. On the reverse is a black Sarreguemines backstamp that dates their production to between 1920 and 1950. Size: The plates are 7 3/4 inches wide and together weigh 6 pounds 3 ounces. Condition: All 12 plates are in overall excellent condition with no marks, chips, cracks, stains or repairs. One has 2 tiny nicks on the edge and all 12 have crazing, as is common in Sarreguemines plates of this era. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description. The US Postal Service is reporting an unprecedented volume of packages and reduced staff levels due to the ongoing health situation. Though we will ship promptly, there may be significant delays in delivery. Please take this into account when ordering.
