1/350 Wood Deck for RN Roma (Trumpeter #5318) Pontos #35023WD1 Factory Seal MISP

Description: I would like to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! I have said that in my opinion, the single most impressive upgrade for any ship kit is a classic wooden deck. This is a laser cut precision wood deck to go with Trumpeter’s excellent 1/350 kit of the Italian Battleship Roma (TRP #05318). The Roma only had a very small wood deck on the Poop Deck (I have waited a long time to work that into one of my listings) and Pontos has done a great job with it. This upgrade set has three components: the one-piece self-adhesive teak-tone wood deck, a length of fine black anchor chain, and a dry-transfer sheet for gold-plated ship’s name. While Pontos doesn’t explicitly say it, it makes sense to me that this set would work for any of the three Littorio-class battleships. In fact, Pontos includes all three names on the gold-plated metal transfers. I could only find one listing for this set on eBay (getting rare), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this set very quickly. Here is some of what I found out about this hard-to-find and wonderfully detailed product: The Pontos site shows the instruction set, metal transfer sheet and deck part drawings. They do not show an anchor chain, but one exists in the package I have. From other sources, I have found the following list of features: · Recommended kits: Trumpeter RN Roma (TRP #05318)· Composed of Wooden deck / Dry Transfer set for one ship kit· Stained with teak color for the protection and expression of real deck· Gold-Plated Dry Transfer Sheet for ship name Scalemates.com has a listing that claims that it is designed for any of the Trumpeter Littorio-class kits (Roma: TRP #05318, Littorio: TRP #05319 & Vittorio: TRP#05320). There are also links to references to help with your build. I couldn’t find any reviews of this particular deck, but Sean Hert did an outstanding review of the wood deck for the 1/350 DKM Scharnhorst (Pontos #35012WD1) on the modelwarships.com site. I assume his comments would apply to the entire family of Pontos WD1 decks. He described the deck as laminated wood about 0.013” thick and attached to a stiff plastic backing. It was easy to free the parts with a light tracing with a hobby knife. His Conclusion was: “Replacement decks like these are growing in popularity in the model ship building hobby, and this should appeal to anyone who wants to upgrade the appearance of their Scharnhorst with real wooden decks!” If you want to see a deck going onto a model, Sovereign Hobbies did a 10-minute YouTube video that is loaded with useful tips and practical advice as he applies Pontos #35021WD1 to his 1/350 HMS Repulse model from Trumpeter. The set is in clear plastic sleeve about 11” x 5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed. As usual, I have resisted the temptation to open it (not hard since you can see everything through the plastic), so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one laser cut self-adhesive wooden deck, a fine anchor chain, and a dry-transfer sheet for the ship’s name. The deck requires no cement or paint to complete as shown.
