In early spring the lobes are quite narrow becoming more broad as summer arrives. Late season new growth has decidedly wider lobes and may even appear palmate.Starts out with green leaves and the fall color on this selection ranges from yellow to orange.The overall shape of the tree is quite graceful becoming just about as broad as it is tall with maturity. Height: Slowly reaches 5 - 7 FeetSpread: 5 - 7 Feet Hardiness Zone: 5a - 9b Medicinal use : None known Edible parts of Japanese Maple: The sap contains a certain amount of sugar and can either be used as a drink, or can be concentrated into a syrup by boiling off the water.
