Description: 15” Vintage Studio Pottery Decorative Centerpiece Bowl/Platter_Rust Orange Blue--Art Deco A vintage handmade pottery bowl/platter from my in-laws' estate. They lived in Vermont and collected pottery. There is no marking on the bottom. This item might be described as a shallow flared centerpiece bowl (flat profile) with a very wide lip. There are very very slight ridges one can feel as the plate/bowl flares out from the center. I would attribute the ridges to hand-shaping on a wheel. But I cannot be certain. Color is a speckled or flecked rust orange color. In the center or bottom of the bowl are 5 blue fleur-de-lis like flowers that open out over and on top of a pentagon. It has an Art Deco influence to it. There is a very nice ‘lip’ on the top edge of the bowl, a relatively smooth side that transitions into 2 more ridges and culminates in the smooth bottom with the design. The side seems fairly thin to me given its 15 inch diameter and the bowl/platter seems very light so I would describe it as finely made. The bowl/platter is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There are two holes, side by side, under the rim of the base (see pics 3 and 4). These holes don't go all the way through. I don't know what they are intended for.
