Memoires de M.L.D.R was written by Francois de la Rochefoucauld (1613-1680). Rochefoucauld was a French moralist and author of maxims and memoirs. He is part of the movement of classicism and best known for his maxims. His maxims focused on the merciless nature of human conduct, with a cynical attitude towards virtuosity and avowals of affection, friendship, love and loyalty. Memoires de M.L.D.R are of high interest and literary merit. Discours Merveilleux De la vie, Actions & Deportemens de la Reyne Catherine de Medicis is a Henri Estienne printed pamphlet against Catherine de Medici.
