Description: I have here for sale a seventeenth century book by IZAAK WALTON, the author the of the iconic Compleat Angler. This book is entitled THE LIFE OF DR SANDERSON LATE LORD BISHOP OF LINCOLN. The second impression, printed for Benjamin Tooke at the Ship in St Paul's Churchyard, and Thomas Sawbridge at the three Flower-de-Luces in Little Britain, in 1681.The book has a full page plate of the Bishop facing the title page.The book was first published in 1678 so this is the second printing.Bound in its original dark brown leather hardboards but both board are detached and the frontispiece is detached.
