Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE FABLES BY THE LATE JOHN GAY complete in 2 PARTS, in 1 volume. WITH a total of 66 engraved plates including the frontispiece,(complete). This book was published by J & R TONSON, London in 1764. With 50 fables in part 1 and 16 fables in part 2, each having a full page engraved plate. Leather binding poor - front board is detached and missing. Pencil name to ffep. Age soiled page edges. A couple of pages have small tears to the page edges. Some inked '{' in the page margins. The text block remains tightly bound with no loose or missing pags viii, 192pp 16cm x 10cm.
