We are @textiletrunk ~ I feel extremely fortunate to have been offered a fabulous collection of 18th century ( c 1780) French Boiserie carvings. The perfect tone of medium, French gray....not too light and not too dark ~ This piece came out of a French chateau and would have been used on a large boiserie panel in a very grand room! This piece is hand carved. The first layer applied was a layer of Gesso (a white paint mixture used to coat rigid surfaces such as wooden painting panels or masonite as a permanent absorbent primer substrate for painting).
