Description: This is a complete 1790 second edition (and best edition and with more maps) Geography Made Easy/ American Geography by Jedidiah Morse. 12 mo size. 322 pages in original binding with spine label. I made up a fitted archival card board conservation box for it. Printed in Boston by Thomas & Andrews. With all the 8 maps engraved by Amos Doolittle of Hartford, Conn. including the great map of America "Aspera Ad Astra..A Map of the United States of America". The 1st edition only has two maps! So this edition is the first with 8 and first with a description of the west as known at that time. Early text explaining Spanish America with East and West Florida, Louisiana (pre purchase), New Mexico, and California. California in 1790! Binding is starting to give out but still holding together pretty well. Age toning to the paper but paper is good and strong not brittle. Not something you find often and when one does it is usually missing some maps.
