Description: 1811 Cornwall, Cornish penny token. The obverse shows a mining pump engine and winding machine. The date, 1811 is below it. Around the border is "CORNISH PENNY". The reverse shows a large fish in the center, with ingots of tin and copper above and below it. Around the border is "PAYABLE IN CASH NOTES AT SCORRIER HOUSE". Both sides are mostly medium to dark brown to dark brown in color, the obverse showing a darker color crescent shape in the lower right quadrant. A few minor rim bumps common to these larger early coppers are visible. The mining equipment on the obverse is fitting as the piece was issued by mining magnate, John Williams.
