Description: Here's a beautiful dark blue pearlware covered sauce tureen made by Clews around 1820. It depicts St Catherine's Hill near Guildford and it comes from the Foliage and Scroll Border Series. Matching original cover!....Nice impressed Clews crown mark on bottom....CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE with crown in middle.....the tureen itself is 3 1/2"tall (5 1/2"to finial on lid)...8 3/8"long x 4"wide....ornate scrolled rolled applied handles...footed base...cover has hole for the ladle...Excellent shiny nice condition with no visible damage. It has a small hard to see hairline in one inside corner of tureen. Supposedly has a couple professional repairs on handle chips, but I cant see any evidence and nothing shows up under blacklight.
