The first edition of this work. This work is an argument in favour of the Reform Bill of 1832, which introduced changes to the electoral systems in England and Wales. In this work, the author criticises the people who were attempting to set the working classes against it. Written by William Carpenter, a theological and political writer. He was imprisoned in 1831 for evading the stamp duty on newspapers. This pamphlet was written whilst he was in the King's Bench prison. CONDITION Disbound. First and last leaf are almost detached. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with some spots.
