Description: Offered here is an original vintage 1833 German 15"X18" lithographed certificate endowing upon Johann Friedrich Wilhelm the title of Master Craftsman in the production of Cart Wheels. This is a large document that glorifies the accomplishment of becoming a Master Craftsman in a field that was very important in those early days...WHEELS made expertly. There are lots of interesting things to translate on this document. I am not a German translater but have tried to glean a bit of understanding from Google translate internet usage. This document was created as a Lithograph document by a local lithographer of the period by Jnstvon Aug Wehrt The document has some discoloration and folds, some damage repaired breaks. But is complete and still an historically attractive collectible. It can make a nice family coat of arms for the right family?? This man could have been a relative of yours?? Johann Friedrich Wilhem the wheel maker. The coat of arms translated to order of the Garter with the two lions of Rough and Terrified with the motto Mal y pense -order of the Garter. This document allowed the recipient Craftsman the permission to work in the Dukedom of Btaunschweig(Brunswick). The Duke of Brunswick during this time was Wilhelm August Ludwig Maximillian who was the Duke until his death in 1884. There should be a plethora of descendents to the Wilhelm namesake.
