Description: 1843 Liberty Seated dollar, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Extremely Fine, XF-45. This Choice Extremely Fine silver dollar has original lustre, especially in the fields near features, where the toning is multicolored blue, red, and orange; elsewhere, it is a predominantly brown tone of silver that indicates no cleaning flaws. Problem-free coins are always an item of high value. Additionally, the reverse rim from one to four o'clock shows extra "wire" material, indicating the big planchet was not completely finished up in form. Finally - the reverse has a light strike of "ONE" in ONE DOL. that you see in some 1843s. This unique coin has a lot of descriptor baggage that goes with it!This pre-Morgan dollar was minted in what were still Early American, pre-war and expansion years of later in the 1840s. This coin circulated some, but not heavily, and was apparently set aside and saved in the next two centuries, until deposited in a bank or saved for a collection as Morgan dollars began to arrive in circulation. We don't know these things exactly and so they will remain part of the coin's mystery. The Real Deal - and one of a kind - 1843 Liberty Seated dollar is offered for you here!
