This is from an enlarged edition with no centerfold, making it great for framing. It is from a circa 1849 Stieler's Hand Atlas, published in Gotha by Justus Perthes, a copy of the title page is included. The map is dated 1843 in small print in the title area along with Friedrich von Stulpnagel, the cartographer under Stieler's direction. Stieler's Hand Atlas appears in the top right margin. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single map as seen in the first pic. Size: The map area measures approximately 12 by 15 inches (30x38cm) on a 14 by 17 1/2" page (37x45cm) Condition: Good to Very Good condition, blank on reverse, embossed plate marks in margins, printed on heavy cotton paper with strong original hand color outlining as issued. There are a couple of light handling smudges at the bottom, mainly in the margin, otherwise it is very clean with strong original hand coloring with a nice antique appearance that would frame up well, see the pics.
