It is by [Wellington] W. Williams with a copyright date of 1847, both stated on the map in the bottom margin, see pics. It was originally published in Appleton's Railroad and Steamboat Companion, Traveler's Guide in 1847, a copy of the title page is included with all the publishing details. The listing is for the map only, which is not mounted, matted or framed. The pics are of the actual map for sale. Overall a nice small size map with bright color and a rich antique patina that would frame up well.Size: The image area inside the border lines measures approximately 4 3/4 by 7 inches (12x18cm) on a 5 3/4 by 7 1/2" (15x19cm) page with a margin all around as seen in the main pic. Condition: The map is in Good condition with original hand coloring and a centerfold as issued, blank on reverse. There is tonal ageing and some darkening around the edge and a couple of very minor light handling smudges. Otherwise, it has nice color on a strong page with a rich antique patina, best to see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
