Description: RARE 36" long by 5 1/2" tall by 3" deep wooden handled / metal canister 1860-80s campaign parade torch that could well have been used in any of the Presidential and local statewide campaigns for Abraham Lincoln to U.S. Grant to James Garfield to Grover Cleveland to Benjamin Harrison -Item is made to hold lamp oil with a spout to hold a wick for a light source and the screw top lid intact and is attached by a hard, stiff wire swivel hanger to facilitate the movement of the marcher as they walked through the streets cheering on their favorite -The VINTAGE 1800s item has usual wear consistent with age and normal use (See photos below, FANTASTIC!)-This is an ORIGINAL item, NOT A REPRODUCTION item!
