Description: Minnen Fran En Sjuttonarig Vistelse Nordvestra Amerika. By Gustaf Unonius and published in Upsala by W. Schultz's Forlag. Two volumes. 1862, 424 pp, 621 pp, hardcover binding with clear plastic protective coverings. In as-is condition. The plastic protective coverings have some tearing. Covers and spines on both volumes have age-related toning and wear, causing some discoloration, bending, and tearing along the edges. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Illustrations have some toning, but are otherwise in good condition and clear to see. Hinges have some wear, and while pages remain attached, the support is not entirely even throughout both volumes, with the front cover of the second volume completely detached. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Gustaf Unonius was a Swedish pioneer and priest in the American Midwest. He was one of the primary reasons for Swedish immigration to the Upper Midwest. Unonius spent seventeen years in the United States, and he describes his time there in these two volumes. This set would make a great addition to the personal library of any Swedish speaker interested in learning about one of the most important individuals regarding Swedish immigration to the United States. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired. COLU1862DIJLJR1117
