Description: 1863 Small Size Copper-Nickel Coin from Belgium 10 Centimes Kingdom Decimal Coin Rampant Lion Facing Left King Leopold First For your Belgium or World Coin Collection - BEL002 Details Description: A beautiful small choice very fine or extremely fine coin from Belgium. This is the pale gold colored 1863 ten centimes copper-nickel coin. This is a kingdom decimal 10 centimes and depicts the rampant lion within a shaded circle and having the legend "L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE *1863*" surrounding it on the obverse. The reverse has the denomination in the center with a star below all within a shaded circle and is surrounded by the legend "LEOPOLD PREMIER ROI DES BELGES." This is a thicker than normal coin and has an unevenly stamped rim (see last two photos). This is a beautiful coin with great eye appeal. It is KM# 22 weighing ~4.5 grams of copper-nickel and measures ~21.4 mm in diameter. Coins of low denomination such as this are rather scarce in such a nice state of preservation since they would have been heavily circulated.
