1865-1866 TINTYPE PHOTO YOUNG GIRL CHILD MATTED WITH US INT REV 1c TAX STAMP

Description: 1865-1866 TINTYPE PHOTO YOUNG GIRL CHILD MATTED WITH US INT REV 1c TAX STAMP. Photo very good condition; mat good condition, just two spots on front, some on back around where photo is taped to mat (typical with age) however, fortunately not on stamp - see pix. Photo typically clear - particularly excellent feature of the tintypes - though small, looking at as is, or even more so through a simple small magnifying glass, very detail clear. Unfortunately, no photographer/studio name. The US Internal Revenue tax stamp was for the time period of August 1864-1866. However, it is known that it was repealed a month early at the end of July 1866. Yet however again, it's been found that stamps were still put on photos by photographers/studios, and different information written on them sometimes afterwards - likely for their own reasons. Not for long, but sometimes on copies of photos they'd had for a while. However #3: Specific to this pic - the 1 CENT stamp (this one Proprietary) actually started use in March 1865 - Aug (Jul) 1866. In March 1865, the tax act was adjusted so that pictures selling for less than 10 cents required only a 1 CENT stamp. So, this pic most likely dates March 1865 - July 31, 1866. Also, if of any interest, while this appears to be a 1/9 plate from back, that's in height. It was apparently studio trimmed likely from a 1/6 plate, as it's much more narrow. This also makes more sense re: the different stamp date. All these fun little details, and often strange little things remain unseen! :) PLEASE SEE PICTURES. Shipped USPS. Thanks for looking!
