Description: Original Ordnance Survey County Series Map Lanarkshire XXX. NE, covering the Sandford area, just to the southeast of Strathaven, on a scale of Six Inches to One Statute Mile. Noteworthy historical features shown on the map include St. Oswald’s Well and a number of old pits and quarries. The map is printed on thick parchment type paper and measures approximately 46cm x 30cm, with titles, notes, legends and scale bars on the wide margins. The whole sheet measures approximately 52cm x 40cm and has been trimmed. The map is generally in good condition, although it is marked in places and has a few small tears on the bottom margin (see photos). It is ideal for framing and would be of interest to local historians/collectors. (Postage outwith the UK to be confirmed.) Seller Ref: 534
