1899 The Works of Charles Kingsley 5 Works 8 Volumes

Description: 5 works of Charles Kingsley in 8 Volumes. Good condition for 120+ years age. Not great. Not terrible. Not gross, musty odors … or smoke odors… light page toning around edges. NO spotting or mold. One volume has some staining on the top edge block that can be seen along the tops of the pages. Nothing serious. Nice decorative covers and spines. Good for display and for reading. Kingsley was a priest of the Church of England, a University Professor, a historian and a novelist. He was also a close friend of Charles Darwin, sympathetic to his theory on evolution. He was one of the first people to review and praise Darwin’s “On the origins of species”.
