Comstock, 1904, 182 pp, 10.5 x 8". In fair condition. Cloth boards are scuffed at edges & worn/bumped at corners. Head and tail of spine collapsed - cloth beginning to fray. Top edge gilt. Gilt/painted lettering and deco on front board bright and clean. Cloth spine heavily toned or age-stained, title illegible. Toning throughout text-block - some instances of finger-soiling. No known previous ownership. Front gutter split, binding mesh exposed. Binding has been re-glued - fragile. All plates present & in good condition. Please see photos. Joy Wheeler Dow (1860-1937) was an American self-taught architect, artist, and author. He was born Joseph Wheeler Dow, but changed his first name to "Joy" at the age of 21. Dow was primarily an architect & an authority on Colonial architecture. Most of his early work was done in the Wyoming Section of Mill-run and Summit, NJ.
