He first worked at Carnegie & kompani in Gothenburg , but was part of the Royal Theater's student school in 1874. In 1877 he got a job at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki , and in 1878 at the New Theater in Stockholm. In the years 1879–1885 he played in Gothenburg and then 1885–1901 at the Royal Dramatic Theater and 1901–1911 at the Swedish Theater and the Vasa Theater .
