Description: A great piece of trench art. These were typically made by WWI soldiers while fighting in the tenches, or French citizens living near the battlefields. Citizens often sold them to tourists after the war. This British shell casing is dated 1917. You'll see /17 on the bottom indicating this. It was also manufactured by the Gramophone Company (stylus and gramophone logo with G and S on either side.) This is the company that predates EMI Records.
