Description: An early 1900s beaded wrist bag in an unusual color for that period-pink. The wrist bag is a simple flat rectangular pouch, open at the top and with a strap long enough to wrap around one's wrist. It is constructed from thick beige woven wool fabric overlaid with a pattern of interconnected squares of beads, a folded over all around 1 1/2" border of solid beads , and a 1 1/2" fringe of loops of beads along the bottom and along the front side of the bag. The strap is a narrow length of the same fabric beaded all around so it appears square or rounded. A nice, unusual touch is a ring of beads that slides up and down the strap handle helping close and secure the top of the bag. The beads are strung on beige cord. They are not solid pink but are crystal beads with varying amounts of pink stain inside so the purse doesn't have a monochromatic look but has interesting color changes with the crystal contributing loads of sparkle. The inside is not lined but is just the tightly woven fabric which is quite substantial and needs no further assistance. Inside is a little ziplock with some loose beads which came with the bag. I don't see any obvious losses but there are backup beads in case. The bag measures 7" high (including the 1 1/2" fringe), is 4 3/8" wide, and the strap/handle is 7" high. It weighs 4 1/2 ounces.
