Description: Up for sale is a 1925 1st Edition/1st Printing copy of "THE ITALIAN LAKES" by Gabriel Faure. For past, present and potential travelers. This is one of The Picture Guides. A superb series of distinctive travel books. Each volume is written by an author of literary ability who, from first-hand knowledge and true love of the locality, tells what the discriminating traveler would wish to know of its history, topography, art and life. The outstanding feature of the series, however, is the large number of beautiful photogravure illustrations (varying from 150 to 330) in each book. The photographs have been selected and reproduced with a care for their artistic character such as has never before been expended upon a guidebook. Bound in cloth, gold-stamped, with a jacket in color after an original watercolor painting, and with a map in nearly every volume. This book is in very good condition. Rubbing/chipping/shelf wear to the jacket around the edges, corners and at the top/bottom of the spine panel. Some rubbing/chipping/shelf wear to the front/rear jacket panels as well as along the spine panel. Dust jacket has been price clipped. Boards are straight and clean with rubbing/shelf wear along the edges and corners. The spine and pages are very tight. There are no other marks, tears, bookplates or writing in this book. Please review all photos for your best idea of the condition of this book. Shipping on this item will be $5.00.Thank you for looking.
