Description: Now this is a fabulous find and came along with another piece of artwork which I was more interested in……. Amazing 1930’s Signed Drypoint Engraving/drawing by Polish Artist Wladyslaw Zakrzewski Władysław Zakrzewski (Pakość 1903 - 1944) was Polish painter and graphic artist. In 1922-1924 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Władysław Jarocki and Józef Pankiewicz, and in 1926-1930 in Paris in private art academies. This rare piece of artwork is nicely displayed in it’s original oak & glazed frame which measures 9” x 6.75”. It’s titled “Old Warsaw Town” in Polish and is pencil signed by the artist. As you can see from the pictures, I have removed it from the frame to assess the surface, the dark areas are raised with the lighter areas in pencil. Due to the sad & short length of this artists life, (Killed in the streets of Krakow by a German Patrol), pieces of artwork by him are rare and much sought after and realise some very good prices.
