Description: 1933 Wheaties Minneapolis MILLERS Baseball Postcard - Art Ruble VERY RARE!! (B)Before the Minneapolis based WHEATIES Company took a “leap of faith” by placing Major League stars on the back of their cereal boxes in 1935, they sponsored a couple of sets in 1932 and 1933, depicting the hometown Minneapolis Millers on WHEATIES postcards. Both issues are considered extremely scarce, with the 1933 set including 24 subjects from a team that would eventually be graced with Ted Williams in the later 1930’s. Ultra popular with collectors are the elaborate bright white postcard backs which include a Wheaties cereal box sketching, a line area to write a short message and the following text appear directly above the WHEATIES box: “The makers of WHEATIES are happy to afford you this easy way to get actin pictures of your favorite ballplayers. WE join you in wishing for the continued success of the Minneapolis Ball Club and its able president, Mike Kelly. Thank you”! It should also be noted that the back includes a purple rubber stamped “VOID” notation in the postage area which was applied to all UNMAILED examples. Please ask with any questions!
