Description: Original radio broadcast of the 1934 All Star Game, played at the Polo Grounds in New York. This, the second All Star Game ever played, and the only known complete game broadcast in existence with Babe Ruth in action, is best remembered for Carl Hubbell's pitching performance. He struck out, in succession: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin. All five of those batters are in the Hall of Fame. Interestingly, Bill Dickey was the next batter (he singled) and then Lefty Gomez also struck out against Hubbell, and he's in the Hall too, although as a pitcher. Despite all the strikeouts, the American League wins, 9 to 7. Called by Graham Mcnamee, Tom Manning, and Ford Bond.
