Description: This week I'm offering a number of unique and collectible items. Baseball autographs can be collected on a variety of objects, but there is no more impressive sight than that of a baseball covered in the signatures of a single team. The sight of fifteen to thirty autographs on a single ball, players who spent a season together, is just about the most primal artifact a collector could desire. I'm letting go some of the historic baseballs I've kept in my collection for years, and this is your chance to pick up something special. Note - leather is not an ideal writing surface, and so the ink on older signatures has a tendency to fade. Note also that in years past, it was normal to preserve signatures by applying a coating of varnish to the ball, which has resulted in most balls from a half century ago turning yellow or brown. As long as the signatures are good, they still present well. Here is a beautiful piece, a baseball displaying 24 signatures from the 1934 New York Giants, on an official ball.
