Hinges have some wear, but pages remain attached with generally good support. Illustrations have some toning and foxing, but are otherwise in good condition and clear to see. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Howard Garis was an American author, best known for the character of Uncle Wiggily, an elderly rabbit. He was one of the prolific children’s authors of the early twentieth century, alongside his wife, Lilian. For nearly four decades, the Newark News, where Howard and Lilian both worked, would publish an Uncle Wiggily story every day except for Sundays. This book would make a great addition to the personal library of any collector of children’s books, or anyone wanting to introduce the children in their life to older, but popular for its time, children’s stories.
