Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Howard Garis was an American author, best known for the character of Uncle Wiggily, an elderly rabbit. He was one of the prolific children’s authors of the early twentieth century, alongside his wife, Lilian. For nearly four decades, the Newark News, where Howard and Lilian both worked, would publish an Uncle Wiggily story every day except for Sundays. This book would make a great addition to the personal library of any collector of children’s books, or anyone wanting to introduce the children in their life to older, but popular for its time, children’s stories. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired. RAREA1939ABCBJR1105
