1940's Revere 8mm Movie Projector W/ Case, Cord, Instructions & Reel - Working

Description: Up for sale is an early 1940's Revere 8mm movie projector. It has a cord and has been plugged in to determine if them motor runs and if the feed and take-up real spindles turn, they do turn and it appears to function properly. This has not, however, been tested with 8mm movie film. The projector light also works. To make the light come on you need to first flip the motor switch on and then flip the light switch on, at that point the light will indeed illuminate. There is a case for the projector and all included parts and there is a 25-page instruction booklet also included. It has a take-up reel in it's original cardboard box. The instruction booklet copyright date is 1946. The Revere company was founded in 1920 and the business was sold to the 3M company in 1960 when the founder became terminally ill. This projector is in very good condition. The dimensions of the projector itself are approximately 13 inches tall at it's tallest, 8 inches deep, and 6 1/2 inches wide. The case was made by Nasco. It has a medallion where the handle would be located. It reads: "Genuine NASCO Product Manufactured by Nathan Shectman, 228 W. Houston St. NYC." The case is almost 14 inches tall, 9 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The handle is missing from the case. Nasco made cases in the 1940's for movie projectors manufactured by Revere, Kodak, Universal, Keystone, and other camera companies. This projector fits securely within the Nasco case. Like so many vintage and antique items this projector and case combined weight just under 16 pounds. This item will only be shipped within the United States, no International shipping.
