A. Pattinson, CB, D.S.O., Air officer Commander in Chief of Flying Training Command. The 20 year old Fretay build his own plane secretly in France, camouflaging it with leaves during the day and working by candle light by night. Escaping to Britain in the home made plane, he was attacked by a Messerschmidt, but managed to evade it. Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. Photo Is dated 1941.
