Played & highly respected by famous popular big band swing era drummers over the many years past such as: Frankie Carlson, Joe Cartz, Dick Freeman, Sal Goodman, Herman Kapp, Dana Kinsman, Joseph Maddy, Charlie Master, Bud Moore, Ben Pollack, Sid Catlett, Doc Williams & many others. They who considered these old well made beauties, WFL/Ludwig's best drums ever in their day. This is a highly sought after snare drum model by vintage players & vintage collectors alike all over the world. Drum's from me own private personal cherished collection. Remains complete original, fully functional in nice clean well kept & cared for condition, with beautiful polished shine as shown. This is one of me top-shelf most favored drums ever owned & played throughout me lifetime. Excellent drum choice for most any occasion. This particular early model WFL/Ludwig was only offered available in 1941. Very rare offering, not to many of these original examples of this drum left available to be found out there today. Features: 1) Early rare 1941 WFL Drum Company Aluminum Keystone badge. Reads: WFL Ludwig- Founder on sides of air-hole, with 1728 N. Damen Ave. Chicago, USA at bottom. 1) Air breather vent hole with original grommet. 1) 7"X14" Mahogany solid shell with solid Maple Rerings top & bottom. A natural wood-grain interior & beautiful beautiful blue & silver lacquer duco outside finish ply. Note:(Some finish cracks found in outside lacquer finish ply only, however still shows well as clearly shown depicted.) To be expected given drum is now "81" years old! 6) WFL/Ludwig rare early classic short "Zephyr" nickel plated double tension lugs. 1) WFL early 1st generation nickel plated P-83 snare strainer. (functions proper smooth & tight). 1) WFL early first generation nickel plated P85 butt plate. 1) WFL early nickel over steel wire snares set. 2) white heavy-duty nylon snare cords, (1 ea. end). 1) WFL Ludwig straight single flange nickel plated batter hoop. 1) WFL Ludwig straight single flange nickel plated hoop with snare gate bottom hoop. 12) WFL nickel hoop claw clips. 12) WFL nickel over steel threaded lug rods. 12) WFL nos metal washers. 1) Radio King tone mute double muffler control system, same era custom ordered added extra.
