Wristwatch This beautiful timepiece is a vintage Hamilton Baton wristwatch from 1948, produced exclusively between 1948 and 1952. This manual-wind watch is powered by an original Hamilton mechanical movement, grade 982, model 980. It features 19 jewels, a sub-second hand, a 45-hour power reserve, and a frequency of 18,000 vph. Proudly made in the U.S.A. What makes this timepiece even more remarkable is its movement family, 980/982, which was designed for high-grade, small-scale production. Approximately 1,400,000 pieces of this movement family (across all models) were produced between 1934 and 1954, making it a prized collector's item. The original silver dial, which shows a touch of patina, features gold Arabic numerals, gold hour markers, and matching gold hands. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o’clock, and the dial is signed "Hamilton" at the top. Cased in a 23x36mm rectangular case with a sophisticated 14K yellow gold construction and elegant "semi-hidden" lug design. It is paired with a stylish crystal.
