Washington, D.C.: D.A. Scalise of Warren, Pennsylvania, former provost sergeant, left, and Kenneth F. Ahrens, Erie, Pa., one of the two survivors of the Malmedy Massacre were grilled before the Senate Armed Services today to testify. Scalies who was provost sergeant at the prison where the storm troopers where held stated that he was in close contact with the prisoners and would have heard of any abuse had it occurred. He said "there was no abuse." Ahrens told the committee of the mowing down of American troops by SS men and of his escape after the massacre. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1949.
