Description: This listing is for a very rare Braille book of maps from Israel titled "ISRAEL IN MAPS FOR THE BLIND" edited by Naftali Kadmon with Tactual Graphics by Emile Peretz. The was published by the Central Library for Blind in Netanya in Cooperation with the 'Survey of Israel'. This book has 17 single sided pages with a plastic comb binding. It measures 11 3/4" x 11". On the second page it says in English "This Atlas is dedicated to commemorate the first visit to Israel, in 1950, of Dr. Ludwing Cohn - Founder of the Library" and "The Central Library for the Blind gratefully acknowledges the assistance given by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the 'Survey of Israel' in preparing the Atlas Publishing." The first 12 pages are only in Braille with the exception of the 2nd page which is in English and Braille. The last 5 pages are plastic "Tactual Graphics" illustrating different maps of Israel with some Braille identifiers. Condition: The cover has several tears around the edges and a piece of tape has been placed over one tear. Part of the comb binding near the bottom is missing a small piece. On 2 of the 5 plastic maps pages there are small 1/4" cracks in the plastic near the corner that are probably from aging. Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee.
