1950s Vintage Leather Motorcycle Jacket (Beck, Northeastern Flying Togs?)

Description: Do you want to be as cool as Marlon Brando in the classic movie "The Wild Ones"? A buddy of mine owed me some money and gave me this jacket as payment. This was back in the 1980s and this leather motorcyle jacket has hung in my closet since then, over 30 years. It is basically in the same shape as when I got it. It is surely not in mint condition. I've done some research and jackets like this were made back in the post war years like late 40s and 50s. This one has the black inner liner and is hard to exactly know when it was manufactured as it is missing its tags. Probably the most obvious imperfections are some of the zippers are not functional and have separated from the coat around the bottom. The pocket zippers all work, but the front zipper and wrist zippers don't work. I thought of trying to have them repaired but thought it would actually decrease its value. The pockets are all in tact, no rips inside. The laces for the waste sides are gone. The leather and liner has some small holes. I have tried to document the most obvious ones in the pictures, it looks like a couple badges of some type may have been on it at one time. I left the one that was on it when I got it. There is some scuffing and wear which would be normal of a jacket this old. If you are interested in this jacket and have read this far, I would be happy to provide more pictures via an ebay message. I imagine anyone looking seriously to purchase this jacket would have some knowledge of when this jacket was made and what it was made of. My research indicates that it is either made of horsehide, steer-hide or a remote possibly would be cowhide. One distinction this jacket has compared to others I have seen, is it does not have the belt which was very common on some of these type jackets. This jackets black leather is still vibrant but retains that vintage worn look. It looks like the snaps around the collar may be to attach some type of additional fleece collar. All the snaps seem to be functional. The descriptive title I used for this listing may or may not be exactly correct as I have seen differing names for these type jackets that are also very similar to this jacket. I did find two current comparable listings, one was "Schott One Star Perfecto Cactus Leather SteerHide Biker Jacket" and the other was "Beck Northeaster Flying Togs Horsehide Leather Biker Jacket. You can google these titles and check out those listings and pictures and make the comparison for yourself. I have included a screen shot of these listing in my pictures. One listing is asking $1,200 and the other is asking $1,500. This jacket is very similar to those other listed jackets. One very interesting fact I found out was that Marlon Brando wore a very similar jacket in the movie "The Wild Ones." And no one was as cool as Brando in the 50s. I have included the Brando shot of him wearing the jacket in the pictures also, I noticed that the Brando jacket did have the belt. So all that being said I am selling this jacket "as-is" and I am not making any definitive statements or guarantees of the brand, the year it was made, or what it is made of. The only guarantee I'll make is that the jacket you see in the pictures provided is the jacket I will be shipping to whoever buys it. It is obviously very old. It is always my intention to make note of the obvious blemishes in the pictures and description, so please pay attention to the details in the photos because they are large part of the item's description. And as I said I would be happy to provide additional pictures if requested, I've got about a dozen additional pictures that I was unable to include in the listing. It is a bit snug on me and I usually like to wear size XL, so I imagine the size of this jacket is about Large. The measurement from arm pit to arm pit is 20" and from top to bottom is 24" sleeve length is 23", and shoulder to shoulder is 19". I am weary of buyers who have 0 feedbacks. I only would consider shipping this item to a buyer who has a track record. I have had over 1000 transactions and have maintained a 100% feedback. The jacket weighs about 5 lbs and I will make sure it is carefully packaged and shipped.
