Description: For your consideration, A vintage 1951 World Metallurgical Congress Conferee Medal acquired from a private collection. The 1951 Congress was the first ever, was held in Detroit, Michigan and sponsored by the American Society for Metals (ASM). The Congress was attended by 510 delegates from 39 countries. The medal is made of bronze and was produced by the MACO (Medallic Art Company) of New York. Measurements are 3-3/4" medal plus ribbon, 1-3/4" medal only. Condition wise the satiny ribbon shows some wear and there's a little bit of color run. The medal itself could use a polish but otherwise no obvious condition issues to note.
