Description: This General Mills Wheaties metal license plate is a true to design replica of a license plate issued for 1953. It was issued by General Mills in Wheaties in 1953 and were sold into 1954. It is one in a series of 10 different metal license plates replicating issues from foreign Islands and Territories. This set was sold for 25c and a box top in 1953 or 1954 and includes: - Alaska (remember Alaska was not a state until 1959) - Canal Zone- Cuba- Dominican Republic- Guam- Hawaii (was not a state until 1959)- Northwest Territories (does NOT belong in the Canada set)- Philippines- U. S. Virgin Islands- Yukon Territory (does NOT belong in the Canada set) I have collected mini license plate items since the mid-1970s, and have a collection numbering well over 3,000 items. I am slowly getting into turning this into a business to feed my habit. I am not new to eBay; I have been buying and selling on this website since 1996 - this is a new I.D., not a new seller.
