Description: These very rare 1954 Stark & Wetzel cards are from the "carbking" collection. This is a complete set of 37 cards and will be the only set offered in this condition. The cards measure roughly 3.75" x 2.75". Numerous photos were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card set. Stark & Wetzel, a meat packing company, created a set of cards in 1954 that showcased winners of the Indianapolis 500 from 1911 through 1953. The cards were inserted with packages of Stark & Wetzel products and feature the car w/driver on the front while the back of the cards are blank. Beginning in 1952, the company sponsored an award for the Indy 500 "Rookie of The Year" that continued through the 1979 season.
