Ted Williams lost nearly five full seasons during the prime of his life due to Military service during World War II and the Korean War. During World War II he missed three entire seasons - 1943 (at the age of 24), 1944, and 1945. Then, in 1952, at age 33, Williams played just six games at the beginning of the season due to his Military service in South Korea. He did not return to baseball until late in the 1953 season (in August). He played in just 37 games that year. Thus Williams played a total of just 43 games over those two seasons. Despite losing all those years, he was able to amass great numbers over his lifetime. He was the Triple Crown winner twice and the American League MVP twice. Ted Williams was most likely the best hitter of All Time, as well as being a Great American! The card shown in the images is the very same card you will receive.
