Description: I am listing many Unique Items that would make great Gifts for the Vintage Electronics Collector!PRIVATE STOCK FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION!!!1959 NORDMENDE TANNHAUSER 10 Tube AM/FM/SW 4 Speaker Stereo German Tube Radio-Serviced SHIPPED TO 48 State USA UPS addresses ONLY!! No exceptions! Sorry! Here for your consideration is one of the Best German Tube Radio ever made, and it was recently serviced by my Tech Friend Tom. This EXCELLENT 1959 NORDMENDE TANNHAUSER STEREO 60 -U330 10 Tube AM/FM/SW 4 Speaker Stereo German Tube Radio has AM, FM, and multiband Short Wave, Stereo Phono and Stereo Tape inputs.Nordmende, in its heyday of technological growth, decided to name “Tannhäuser” its best device ever produced. A device designed to represent the crest of the technical perfection of its time and extreme attention to detail. It uses 10 tubes, 4 speakers, has 10 watts output, and a transformer power supply that works on 110, 125, 150, 220, or 240 vac. This behemoth is 27” x 11” x 16” and weighs 40 lbs. before boxing it.Please excuse the reflections of the lights and bookcase on the top of the radio. The cabinet is nice, but not perfect -having some surface finish hairline on the top, minor edge bumps, and the brass could use some polish. Neither Tom nor I clean these sets and this is just the way I acquired it. I'll leave any cleanup up to you, as most of my customers prefer to clean their equipment themselves. I recently took this set to my Tech Friend Tom and he replaced 18 capacitors. It plays phenomenally on AM and FM with wonderful tube sound with full Bass and Treble controls and 4 pushbutton tone switches. From just its internal antennas I was able to pick up over 15 AM stations and over 25 FM stations. Probably the best I’ve done on any radio’s internal antennas!!Honesty statements: 1) This plays Stereo Phono and Stereo Tapes but all radio reception is Mono.2) FM is the European 88-100MHz band. (still pulling in over 25 channels)3) I didn’t pick up any Shortwave, but I think I’m doing something wrong, as Tom would have mentioned if it didn’t work.4) The center top pushbutton may have been for a Multiplex version of this set. I don’t know.I attempted to auction this about a year ago, but SEVERAL bidders were manipulating the bids and pulling them just a few hours before the bidding closed, so I pulled the auction- something I’ve done less than 3 times in over 25 years of 1000s of eBay auctions.A special box will be made to ship this radio safely to you. Now it can be yours as a Buy It Now!**********************************************************************************************Welcome to RADIOORPHANAGE JIVE (Just Incredible Vintage Electronics). Here you will find the Best of my 50+ years of Vintage Electronics collecting. These items are here because they are truly the Best of the Best. RADIOORPHANAGE EBAY INFORMATION: 1) 2024 is my 26th year selling on eBay. I have bought, sold, and collected 25+ to 100+ year old Vintage Electronics for over 50 years. As I trim my collection, I try to sell a variety of interesting, hard to find Radios, Amplifiers, Record Players, Vinyl, Stereo Receivers, Speakers, Telephones, Transistor Radios, Tube Hi Fi and Audio, Television, Amateur Radio and Communication Devices, Vacuum Tubes, Telegraphs, Gaming Equipment, Early Computers and Calculators. 2)Check out all my other JIVE BINs and auctions, and mark me as a Favorite Seller. September to May is my selling season. There is something here for any vintage electronics collector or nostalgia buff. My current feedback is 100.00% with over 7000 feedbacks. I was the President of the New England Antique Radio Club and then the New England Vintage Electronics Club for six years. I stepped down at the end of 2018 to concentrate on finding new owners for the Vintage Electronics my son is not interested in. 3) I value you as a customer, and more importantly, a returning customer. I reward your fast payment with excellent packing, and lightning fast shipping. 4) I have no interest in taking advantage of anyone, and I have no need to. If you understand what you are buying, and how Vintage Electronics work, you will be very happy. If you don't understand how to put an antenna on an old tube radio, or how to connect speakers to a Vintage Amplifier, join a local Antique Radio or Vintage Electronics Club. If you don't know where your closest club is, let me know, and I'll tell you. If you don't know how to hook up or use what you are buying, or know someone who does, please don't buy. ASK QUESTIONS about anything you don't understand. I want you to be happy. 5) Shipping is expensive. You can pick your item up with NO SHIPPING costs at my home 50 miles north of Boston with advanced notice. The eBay concept of "free shipping" is one of the 3 biggest lies. We are the best packers on eBay, and pack YOUR item the way we'd like to receive it-if it was being sent to us. We take extra care in packaging, (Bubble wrap, foam pellets, proper boxes, etc.)(NOT the wadded up newspaper trick) There is a cost for doing this right. Our goal is to get it to you in good shape, and for you to not have to file those fruitless shipping claims. Let's face it, once it's broke, it's broke. We have lost a significant amount of money in packaging costs over the past 25 years, and will continue to do so to get it to you in one piece. 6) YOU & US: Note that the majority of what we sell is antique, vintage, and/or collectable electronics. For liability purposes, Radioorphanage / Bruce Phillips accept NO responsibility for how the buyer uses or misuse of the items. We see you as a valued customer, and want you to be happy. Buy with confidence, as we are in this for the long haul- not for a quick buck. If you are not happy, for any reason, let us know and we'll try to make it right. 7) Questions? Please ask!
