Description: November 10, 1960 Univ of Florida Gators Coach Ray Graves letter signed on Team Stationary Guaranteed Authentic Original Samuel Ray Graves was an American college and professional football player, NFL Player and college football coach. He was a native of Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he was the starting center and team captain for the Volunteers. He played three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He coached the Florida Gators from 1960 to 1969. He was also involved in the development of the sports drink Gatorade. Obtained from the estate of a sports writer, Tommy Devine, who worked for United Press and The Detroit Free Press newspaper in 1940s and moved on to the Miami News in the 50s and 60s. In the estate lot there were also many items including press cards, newspaper articles written by Mr. Devine, and other letters he received from other sports notables not included in this sale but listed separately (see last 11 photos). Because of all the information I have I can guarantee the signature is authentic. If you decide to have it professionally authenticated you will have no problem.
