In the early 1950’s Elizabeth started her Arcansas costume jewellery company and by the early 1960’s she had a factory at Mosman employing 38 people. Her jewellery was exported to several overseas countries, including UK, Canada and Singapore. You can see a picture of Elizabeth at work on the National Archives web site; type her name in the search engine. Items with the Arcansas plaque are becoming eagerly collected as Australian-made costume jewellery becomes recognised and appreciated.With the trademark use of moulded glass leaves, this time in frosted blue. Silver tone metal with AB rhinestones. All pieces stamped design 550. The brooch is an impressive 8 cms long, secure safety catch. This has a nice clear Arcansas logo. The earrings are 4.5 cms long, each stamped Arcansas on the tight clip backs, plus Arcansas logo. Very good vintage condition, very wearable or excellent to add to your Australian costume jewellery collection. My Items The items I sell are vintage; they are second hand, old, sometimes very old.
