1960s Ludwig 3pc Club Date Drum Set Black Galaxy Sparkle 22/13/15

Description: For your prime consideration is this unique vintage Ludwig Club Date set in Black Galaxy Sparkle. This set was put together to have the original sizes of the early 1960s "Club Date Outfit" which came with a 12x15 floor tom prior to switching to the more common 14x14 around 1964. The bass drum has a pre-serial keystone badge and is all original including the original heads. The rack tom is all original aside from the batter head with serial # 111XXX on the keystone badge dating it to 1965. The red felt baseball bat muffler is fully functional. The floor tom was converted from a marching snare and rewrapped in less dense but equally beautiful Black Galaxy Sparkle. It has a pre-serial keystone badge and from the exterior the original holes for the strainer and butt plate are covered. On the inside the original holes are visible as well as a paper tag commemorating the gift of the drum conversion "for Mike... as a gift from DFO". The period-correct clipper legs are in excellent condition and fully functional and there's a vintage head on top and a modern head on bottom. The set presents absolutely beautifully overall. Most importantly, this set tunes up wonderfully and sounds fantastic, an absolute pleasure to play and gaze upon.
